I hope every one had a very blessed and happy Samhain. Mine was quiet, spent with those I love on this side of the veil, honoring those on the other side. My Great Geek (aka the hubby) and I also did some major divination for the upcoming year.

All seemed well October 31, 2007 for Phoenix, AZ...

But I speak too soon...

Here in Phoenix, e got a 'special' visit from a 'witch' (term used VERY loosely) named 'Magickal Marrisa' (insert eyeroll and snort here) from Las Vegas (now I know why it is called Sin City -- because it is a sin and a shame that woman was released beyond the boundaries of her home) to...

Come and put a 'good' CURSE on Maricopa County Sherriff,  Joe Arapio !!!! (And now everyone say it with me...WTF?!??!). Old girl brought her 'voodoo doll' complete with pins and the whole bit...

Now don't get me wrong -- it's not like ol' Crazy Joe didn't have it coming...but did this nonsense require a press conference?

And if you ever wonder why people still consider Pagans and Witches to be among the 'fringe contingent,' well, we can thank Marissa and her ilk. Thanks to them and the media attention they always seem to garner, we will always be considered 'just this side of crazy'...
